So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Lucky Scrappy!

Cal Tech had, like, volumes devoted to pranking. When we all met up first break after going away to college, my friend Jeff brought some up to share with us.

Evergreen didn't do pranks so much. I mean, we had no grades, our motto and fight song were all about the Latin double entendres, and our mascot was the geoduck.

Sort of takes the fun right out of things.

Huh. I got into an argument with a friend who insisted the handbrake thing was only if you were learning stick and otherwise shouldn't be used, whereas I said it was a good technique to use on steep hills even if you were experienced at driving stick.

I have never ever done a handbrake start and I'm not even sure I'd know how. And I used to drive through San Francisco up and down Divisidero. That said, I like balancing the clutch and the accelerator, though I have been rear-ended by a rocket scientist who was like, "Your brake lights weren't on!" Yeah, moron. But I also wasn't actually moving, hence the rear-ending.

Or everything already felt like a goof on the establishment?

Our wings are not tired.

Despite my love of driving stick and having owned many varieties over the last 35 years I fail at teaching the skill. I tried with my son a number of times and a few hundred stalls later, fail. My mother says he needs a non-parent teacher. I don't understand why he doesn't get it. I need to find someone else to give it a try.

Love good pranks. Didn't do any of it in school, but IRL plenty.

Coding and Sleeping

Didn't do many pranks in college. In high school we did a few things to cars. Wrapped one in plastic wrap, covered one in ice, carried a couple into improbable locations though not anything like into a building.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Hey, isn't there a website where you tell it what you have, and it tells you what you can make? What is it, again?
