Emails From Crazy People is my new favorite blog:

Without looking, I'm guessing that they're all from my mom.

Two good cafeteria days in a row--after yesterday's Middle Eastern cuisine, just now I was filling up the take-out dish at the salad bar when my favorite cafeteria worker came by. He told those of us at the salad bar to "fill up," since the registers aren't working, including the scales, so they're charging $5 for each salad, regardless of how much was on the plate.

Extra chicken and bell peppers, please!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

yeah, he's one of those guys that started looking old when he was 30, and stayed the same.

But he was also the little kid in Anchors Aweigh!

So, it looks like I'm getting furloughed! All employees making more than $23K have three mandatory furlough days between now and Dec. 31. It's not sure how they'll play it - if they had any sense they'd give us the day before Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve (both of which are normally working days, yes, Christmas Eve), and maybe another day Thanksgiving week (which is a week-long holiday for the students). Another 3 days in the spring, too.

I'm blaming Tino, of course.

My brother had to take a furlough day earlier this summer (parole officer in NJ). Actually, he was the president of the local PBA chapter while they were having a protest over the furlough back in June and was interviewed on the local news--he's not bad as a public speaker!

As you should. Sorry about being furloughed.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

All employees making more than $23K

Once again demonstrating what universities think of as good pay. Although does this mean, fo example, that the receptionist will come in and get paid without the people she works for?
