My apartment is weird. It gets cold inside, and then the radiators come on, causing it to get hot inside. I just checked - the temp was 70 degrees before the radiators came on, and 77.5 degrees after. A pretty big swing in temperature.
tommy, that's sorta my experience with radiators (all of a couple months!) It really depends, I think, on the latency of your thermostat and what your boiler putting out. The top warming up comes after the radiator pumping shuts off. I've got it set at around 70 (therm downstairs) and it veers between 68 (it's drafty down here) and 73, up to 75 upstairs ( I think. Need to change batteries on my thermometer. Feels about right, though.) Which is a bit warm for me, but I think (*think*) the key to radiator heat is consistency and I can't cope with less than 68, so am leaving it alone. My gas bill is basically what it was in my forced air apt, and this is twice the heating space, plus another third of the basement that gets heat from the pipes running to the other floors and exhaust vent. Your boiler may need servicing if it's varying that much. Or it may just be a smaller space, I dunno. New to this.
Radiators, I guess, are all about an average. And they can be pretty consistent, as long as you have a decent thermo. And it's really lovely to leave your coats/clothes/pjs/gloves/socks draped over them and put on warm toasty stuff.
It's probably best we never play.
I coulda predicted that long ago! In that, we're not gonna meet.
Hey, is that a gin rummy joke?
I'm not that bright.
I was just thinking about recent predilections I may or may not be responsible for.
Have you ever played Milles Bornes?
Nope.
I wish my temp range was more like yours, tommyrot. I've recorded temps ranging from 58 to 67 over the last few weeks. I don't think it's been above 65 at all this week.
I have played Backgammon with Steve about 342 times and I've beat him ONCE.
You will need to come to Colorado so you can play against me and the kids.
Have you ever played I Never...(heeeee)
You're evil, Suzi. And that's no metaphor!
Long distance cyber-hugs, java. I'm so sorry I missed you on my recent time in the Bay Area.
I think some of y'all need to come out to Colorado. At least after the current freeze is over. There could be games and booze and crafting. There are three buffista families here to hang out with...sounds like a plan in the making, eh??? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
I love Colorado, but I owe visits to friends in Houston and family in Nebraska, first.
Pretty good chance that in the next couple of years I'll be spending a long weekend in Colorado Springs.
Hi folks!
I am watching that show on The Emotional Life. Kinda interesting, but it's hit or miss. I think I want to watch the earlier episodes.
