Tom, do you agree that the first one was misleading?
I think the Fivethirtyeight's presentation tells a slightly different story for some reason, but it provides an easier ability to do a sort of quick and dirty regression analysis (p val or t val I can't remember).
Also, I think Sullivan is the main one to use the term "Christianism."
The defining element of Christianism is the pursuit of worldly power - which is why I refuse to give these politicians and operators the term "Christian." The move into politics was a decision made by the Christianist right two generations ago. Its main vehicle is the Republican party, but it is not entirely partisan, as the remarkable story of "The Family" by Jeff Sharlet reveals.
Christianity vs Christianism, Love vs Power
know what I am doing to boost my mood?
having some of the yummy chai mix quester gave me.
also bitched to a co-worker friend and that helped to identify part of what is irking me so much today.
ho hum off to do more work, I may hate doing it, but I love a clean desk.
In retrospect I should say that I am also often inappropriately chummy with complete strangers, so it's not like my sister manifested the behaviour in a vacuum. I just think I do it a reasonable amount (though I'm working on cutting out some stuff because I'm old, dammit) and she doesn't always know when to say when. But she's working on self-censoring herself too.
I only paint my toenails at this point, but I always paint them. My fingernails? Never. My nails are too weak and prone to chipping and peeling. I might clear coat them. Maybe I should use a super light color and see if that helps them not chip.
Kat is me wrt nail polish. I currently have Season's Screenings on my toes and my big toes have a snowflake painted on them. Super cute.
One more class and the day will be done.
OMG I got used to a quiet office over the holidays. People! Stop talking!
Plei, got a base coat rec?
Will see if I can find a store that stocks OPI so I can see if my current nail color is Russian Navy.
Suzi, the big Beauty Brands over by Park Meadows mall carries the whole OPI line. I have OPI Siberian Nights on my toes right now but it's chipped so, not FG.
I like Nubar Foundation, but I'm trying to use up the nine million bottles of Barielle Natural Nail Camoflague that I got from eBay, and it's pretty good.
I really like the Barielle natural Nail Camoflague that Plei gave me. It's helped my nails peel less. (Of course, taking off my polish as soon as it starts chipping, instead of picking at it for a few days, helps too.)
My toenails are in desperate need of re-doing. That is my plan for tomorrow night, along with re-pinking my hair during Goth Upkeep Night.
Oh, and Plei? That CG pink glitter I bought, while pretty, is not a good idea for me. It's too chunky (even with SV!), and makes me fidgit with my polish.
