My upstairs neighbor always has a New Year's brunch. So all I had to do was shower, put on something not too hideous, and climb a flight of stairs to get coffee, collard greens, black-eyed peas, eggs, biscuits, sausage balls, coffee cake, and juice. It's a great way to start the year. However, the number of people in her apartment reached critical mass for my introverted self, so I'm back in my apartment, listening to people mingle and whatnot upstairs. A friend and I may be catching Sherlock Holmes in an hour or so, which would be nice.

My cleaning lady is here. I have done a fast de-clutter of the living area so that she can clean properly. Now mac and I are going to head out for fast food lunch, some shoe and pant shopping for him, and then a quick stop by a friend's place to drop off a gift and stuff I have of hers. Lastly, we will buy groceries and hopefully that will take up enough time to let the cleaning get done.
In related news, my good friend who is on that record is coming to meet Shanie today.
I know who it is!
Ooh, I have collards and black-eyed peas. I should think about making those.
Aha, past-t was clever enough to buy canned black-eyed peas and canned collard greens, but not clever enough to keep us from eating the greens at some time between buying them and now. Ah well, I'd rather have luck than money.

This is a fantastic idea. I may want to plan one of these next year!
If I get collards and peas today, it will be because I went to Mama Dip's for dinner.
Into Matrix Reloaded now. May switch to LOM. I need a shower sometime soon, too.
Peas are cooking. This'll be a good opportunity to try out my new slow cooker. Though that means I do have to come up with something else for lunch.
Man, right now I wish I had a car -- the supermarket is having a thing where you get $10 back if you buy $25 worth of certain things, but I don't think I can carry enough to get up to $25! (Like, it's an 8-pack of paper towels, or a big thing of laundry detergent.) Unless I buy a lot of toothpaste or something. Hmmm. It's all stuff I use, too.
Bumped into a family friend at the Denver airport. Oops on not recognising her. There will be a lot of people I kinda know coming up.
