What you did to me was unbelievable, Connor. But then I got stuck in a hell dimension by my girlfriend one time for a hundred years, so three months under the ocean actually gave me perspective. Kind of a M.C. Escher perspective, but I did get time to think.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Tim Gunn?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Tom Hanks? People might not love all of his acting, but they certainly love HIM. Bruce Sprinsgteen? Paul McCartney?

Hanks - docked for Forest Gump. Also had brief flirtation with self-seriousness.

Springsteen - Yes.

McCartney - docked for not being Lennon (cf., "Silly Love Songs") and bad divorce. However, his rep has been growing among music geeks.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Is Springsteen forgiven for leaving his wife for what's her name? I guess it's been long enough.

Oooh, interesting call. He kind of needs a project away from Project Runway to establish himself elsewhere.

Within the narrow confines of his current notoriety - yes. But that could easily be toppled by a misstep elsewhere.

Yep, that's about his only ding. And even there he cashed in the generic model for a Jersey girl. He's even proven musically influential on a lot of younger groups like Arcade Fire and The Hold Steady.

Plus points for criticizing the NYPD in song, while still holding benefits to buy bulletproof vests for cops.

I figured he got more points for giving up the model/actress and joining up withe hometown girl/member of his band. Giving up the Hollywood and staying true to his roots. Plus he's been with her ever since.

Oh, BTW, I am watching and enjoying the Burn Notice. Especially the home-town accent...

Done with work. On way to get mac. I think I will clean out files once I get home. End the year with some shredding and organization.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I cannot forgive Tom Hanks for his acting choices. Just can't.

Aretha is interesting territory. She does dress like crap, but I love the hat everyone made a fuss over, and I'm totally not a hat person.

Susan Sarandon is very cool, but I am sad about her breakup, and she should wear bras and shoes more often.

I think Judi Dench could start dressing like Lady Ga Ga and I wouldn't be distressed at all. I love her that much. She rocks even harder than Helen Mirren.

Clooney keeps doing things that make his playboy status seem just charming. Though I did just read he's not doing any more press conferences because he's tired of the prankishness. He may be too big for himself now.

Giving up the Hollywood and staying true to his roots.

The Hollywood model/actress still had a heart.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I ended up with a not-bad-at-all Cobb salad from Safeway, since I've been eating terribly for a while. I also bought cornbread, which tastes almost like cake.
