But my 24 year old brother and his 22 year old wife didn't know it, and the mid-30s couple I was at the park with today didn't even seem to know who Beyonce is.
That seems weird. Although I can see not knowing the song, if only because you've never noticed it. I understand people who don't pay attention to ambient music, although I am not one...
I have it maxed on my FSA for next year at $5000 (which is still almost $4000 less than what I pay for childcare right now). For next year with preschool, it will be even more so I will have to take some as a tax deduction instead.
A Pew Research Quiz: [link] The final screen is great because it shows your results relative to others who took it via telephone. What I think might be worth studying is whether or not those who take it online have a grossly different percentage of answers right. I don't really follow the news, but I'm aware of it because of being online. Anyhow, go and take it and see!
Good one! I only got one wrong, and I knew I didn't know it (troops in Afghanistan).
I really want to go to Crate and Barrel, except it's all the way outside! Stupid winter.
I got them all right, and the only one I even had to stop and think about as who was the Fed Chair (because all the guys were finance guys, and at least one used to be chair!)
I did a phone survey the other week, and man was it a dumb survey. It was all about illegal immigration, and the guy reading the questions agreed that some of them didn't make any sense. There were options where I had to choose Thing A I Totally Disagree With or Thing B I totally Disagree With. I was like, who wrote this poll!? But I felt sorry for the poor guy reading the idiot questions, and figured he probably got paid less if I quit. Anyway, point being it made me even more suspicious about poll numbers than Nate Silver already had.
12 for 12. Perhaps I pay too much attention to current events.
10 right. I got the Afghanistan one wrong, and the Fed Chair one.
I got the same one wrong as Jesse, but I had to guess at a couple.
The troops thing was a guess. I figured it wasn't as high as the high number and with ramping up with 100,000+ more troops, I figured it was a good guess.
What makes me laugh is because I'm so NPR dependent that if you asked me to spell Bernanke's name, I'd never get it right.
Look at the percent correct breakdown by question and demographics. FASCINATING! I'm a data nerd.
I got three wrong - fed chairman, afghanistan, and the unemployment rate.
