A family that adopted an older boy (I think a 10 yo) from Ethiopia is traveling back in a few months to get an 11 yo. The boys were in the same orphanage (not the orphanage mac was in, one run by Ethiopian nuns that my agency works with to place older kids) and were best friends. The boys made a pact that if one was adopted and if he felt that the family was a good family, he would try to convince them to go adopt the other one. Almost a year has gone by and the adopted boy only recently told his family about the pact, he has deemed them a good family.

You should keep an eye on this. I know of cases where mortgage companies pay late then raise the withholding to cover the penalties. (Note this is profitable two ways - interest on withholding until they actual pay the taxes and such, plus a margin they are allowed which is a percent, not a fixed amount.)
