Look, you got a little stabbed the other day. That's bound to make anyone a mite ornery.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

It made Cass and Connie cry.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

She's not against crying, she's against Things Happening to Stuffed Animals. Which it does not.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think I'll do Chipotle today. Bowl of summat.

I have spent all week deep inside messy data. I am supposed to have finished a draft of a functional requirements document by tomorrow, but that sure ain't happening in 32 hours. And no work over the weekend, even for free.

As much as I would want to call ita by some sort of affectionate pet name, I know better.

Yeah, it's a thing. Two people do it. One I hate, and one I allow because she started before I could talk. You're more than welcome to call me any of my given names, or my capoeira name. It's not like I'm inflexible, or anything.

After a million emails yesterday, not a peep from my sister today. The void is echoing.

Now tagless for your comfort.

And in the spirit of full disclosure, shrift, DH works for Sentry.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Well, I'd prefer not to cry, but as long as Things Don't Happen to Stuffed Animals, I'm okay.

Our wings are not tired.

"ita" itself, I find, is an already affectionate name. Also I like it because it's part of mine. :)

I want a Jilli pet name!!

The only thing I hate (and will tell people not to call me) is "Nan". HATE. Oh wait, I don't like "Nita" either. One person calls me that and I let him because of his adorable English accent.

brillig

Jilli, go for it. Clovis would approve.

It's my standard explanation for why I don't capitalise--my parent's gave me the arse end of a name. My actual reasons are lost in the mists of high school and come down to "Ita" looks really weird and I hates it now.

They gave my sister half a name too, but at least they gave her the identifying front end, instead of the generic suffix. So little thought went into naming me.

Jilli, Clovis would entirely love the story.
