I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I can stand between the bed and the closets without endangering my toes! I'd left the frame from the old bed there (since August, because I am lazy), so these long metal poles with various protuberances were a foot danger. Now they're at the local solid waste facility. It's one of those things that weighed on my mind for months, but didn't weigh quite enough for me to do anything about it.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Ended up getting home around midnight, and had to go to work this morning. I'm not as sleepy as I thought I'd be, though.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

So. utterly. zonked.

Got up at 4:15 this morning for a 4:45 cab to the airport for a 7:15 flight to Ft Myers. Landed 10:30, picked up car, got groceries, drove to Sanibel, checked into hotel around 2. Dylan napped in the car so no chance of nap here. Went to the pool, the beach, my grandmother's condo unit, now FINALLY getting some interweb time while DH takes our tireless little boy to the playground. Fingers crossed dinner will be brief. Probably going to bed at 8 tonight.

On the plus side, it's mid-60's and absolutely beautiful here. Unlike NYC, where it's mid-30's and possibly snowing.

brillig

It hasn't cleared 20 degrees here, yet. Almost 4 PM. I hate the grey days.

hip deep in pie

We had a beautiful day here, above freezing, sunny.

I bought more ornaments at the fancy decorating store's boxing day sale.I may have an ornament problem, but as problems go, it's not that bad.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

The one thing I miss about working at the Waldenbooks I used to work at was that the mall also had an Irish store that would put its Waterford ornaments at half-off the week after the holiday, and I bought several over the years. Beautiful, and still way too expensive at $25 each, but I love them.

My favorite new ornament from the past two years (I didn't put up my tree last year) was the wooden one I bought at the South Carolina Artisans Center about 20 months ago. It's about 5 inches tall and beautiful in its simple lines. I'll have to take a picture of it tonight and link to it.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

You are all failing to keep me entertained.

As I am failing to keep myself entertained.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

I got in so late last night that I have gotten nothing done today. I'm wondering if I should just call it a day and head home. There's practically no one here all week anyway.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

We also got in late last night, which is probably not helping me.

The irritating guy who sat next to me at the charging station was playing WoW on his laptop. Is that really what that game looks like? It seemed kind of...the graphics didn't look that sophisticated.
