Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm glad you're going, ita. And hope you get back to NO for good times before too much longer.

another book sold. that's 3 of the 7 things I listed. goodness, the stuff that sold is the stuff I thought wouldn't go.

le sigh. I picked up for mac. didn't even ask him to help. I had all the livingroom carpet cleared. he just took out one whole set of stuff.

I think it's time for me to get ready for bed.

That's always the way, huh? In addition to the child mess. I'm afraid that's always the way, too.

information libertarian

What my day needed was booze. Ah well, made it through, even through dinner with the evil small-minded rural Ohio double-inlaws.

I missed my family. I talked to mr. flea and he missed his family too, even though everyone was technically here - he missed his late grandparents, and having Christmas with his family, not the double-inlaws (my SIL's husband is from here, and his whole family comes to their house for dinner Christmas Eve, breakfast and dinner Christmas Day, and it's really too much.)

The kids got some lovely presents, and I got Julia Child's autobiography and a programmable thermostat.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Your mom has to know some if you are going back to Texas. I know Texas will be good for you , and I can't help but think that it will in the long run make mac more secure. Might be a rough transition, but good overall.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Needless to say, we had booze. And more went into the spare ribs sauce, though I expect it to burn off.

Terminology question: Is spare ribs the cut? So whatever way I prepare them (or, more strictly, she prepares them) we still call them spare ribs?

hope you get back to NO for good times before too much longer

I definitely hope so too.

This is my first time back since Katrina. Will be weird.

I'm watching a local year-end thing, and a big Boston mobster I remember from the 80s died this year. I would never have come up with his name, but that brought back my childhood in a really weird way.

hip deep in pie

I'm glad you are getting to go to the funeral.

Well Xmas is over except for the boxing day sales, the returns, and getting back home. My brother and his family got me a handheld video camera, and I can't decide if I would use it or not. [link]

I also got dishes, a scarf from my nephew, and a rotary cutter and mat. Nice haul.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.
