Our wings are not tired.

There are a number of variations out there for the Kahlua. The time to simmer varies quite a bit. 1-3 hours really. When it has reduced about a third and coats the spoon nicely it is ready to add the booze. You can use rum instead of vodka. Cheapest stuff you find because the strong coffee and sugar taste overwhelms the vodka.

You can half or double the recipe. I bought some pretty bottles at a consignment shop and am giving the Kahlua as presents to some boozers on my list.

eta: The recipe I am using for the Irish Cream is here - [link] - I've had a number of offers for tasting, including my boys. I'll need to hide the stuff.

Thanks, Laura!

It's Heifer International: [link] No jackasses, but you could buy a bunch of shares of a water buffalo and mentally have it be the hind end share...

I'm sure there is a donkey rescue out there...for some reason, I think there's a sort of vet-without-borders thing in Morocco. Or maybe Egypt. India? Free/reduced veterinary care for the city/nation's workhorses, the donkey... Gimme a minute.

Ah, Smithsonian: [link] Original article that clued me in: [link]

It's a good read.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Okay, this is a more serious question. What is the best charity to donate to for polar bears? The jackass thing was fun to think about but way too transparent. But the polar bear thing - I really, really want to do something there, and the fact that I can do good for something that means a lot to me instead of buying some crap for someone I'm pissed at - yay. The "you fucking motherfucker" part will be totally between us!

It's a family drama Christmas miracle!

Our wings are not tired.

{{msbelle}} I'm sorry he is being a poopy head. I promise it will get better, or as my mom always says when I moan about the boys, this too shall pass.

sarameg - Dec 20, 2009 4:51:42 pm PST #26458 of 30001

Aw hell, msbelle. Not a professional, but it sounds like maybe you should just leave it until morning. Stay firm for now, deal with the fallout when you aren't reacting to the immediacy. And feel free to tell me to shove it, okay?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh no, msbelle.

Well, this was a cheery day in Natter to catch up on, between Brittany Murphy and ita's cousin. Stupid world.

I was off having a lovely birthday party for my father.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Thanks, guys.

Happy birthday, Jesse's father!

msbelle, I have no suggestions at all. This fully illustrates what you meant about not putting gifts out. And it's not like you have any therapist appointments or their ilk between now and the 25th, huh?

Perkins, what a gutter mind you have! There's totally some sort of plaque attached to that shaft. It's no more than an ornamental dildo, at best.
