What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I'm watching Happy Feet. This is a very odd little movie.

It gets odder.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Gifts are wrapped, laundry done... nothing packed. My dad seems to think I should arrive before dark. Um, it's a 9 hour drive. We don't get that much daylight tomorrow and I am not a morning person.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm watching Threesome. I have no idea how I watched this in the theatre. The entire thing is watch from the hall.

Happy Feet is on here too.

Just finished baking a gross of soft ginger cookies. Need to clean the kitchen before I go to bed, but I'm taking a kitchen break first.

Oh, was at Target earlier (didn't make it out under the $100 mark, darn it). I was looking at the DVD's and saw A Miracle on 34th St on sale, so I grabbed it. I did look to make sure it was the Natalie Wood version.

When I got home, I went to pop it in and kicked myself cause I realized it was the colorized version. BUT, once I opened the case I discovered it is a two disc set and one of the "extra's" is the original version. Yay!

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I always liked miracle on 34th street. As Connie Willis notes, everyone who helps Santa has a logical reason for doing so. The hero advances his career as a lawyer, and gets a shot at the heroine. The heroine is advancing her corporate career and keeping the peace with her little girl. There are sound political reasons for various decisions the judge and prosecutor make. And so forth.

I'm a mean, mean bitch. Loki was whining and whining and whining to go out. Biting at my hair. So I obliged him. And tossed him into 20 inches. He's now crazy darting kiddo, but not whining to go out.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

My niece, her mom, and her stepdad are all trapped in Arizona right now. Their flight to Maryland was, naturally, delayed.

Thankfully, stepdad's grandfather lives in Arizona, so they can go visit him, and the airline is putting them up in a hotel.

OMG, I think I could watch Grace dancing all day and never get sick of it. That's the biggest grin-maker of the day.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Hahaha! Careful what you ask for, Loki!

The Biscuit loves to go out in the snow, but refuses to go out in rain. We tried to remind him how he used to be a tough dog and lived in the desert all the time and ate rabbits. But he insists that he needs to be brushed again now that his paws are trimmed. Right now he's crashed out on his dog bed (repurposed papasan cushion) under my desk. Life is good.
