It's a fuckload of snow. I'm thinking of cabbing it to BWI Monday. More expensive, but... means another trip to Giant where I buy a carrot so I can get cash for the cab.

More expensive but or and?

I miss blizzard like. I miss the chance of a snowpacolypse.

We're headed to Mammoth tomorrow.

More expensive that parking in the long term lot ($50 vs $I don't know but from old place was more than that) but a) I don't have to drive and figure out if I can get my car off my street Monday and b) if it snows more, don't have to uncover my car at 10 at night in the long term lot.

I think I just convinced myself. Cabbing it. Fuckit. I may still pay kids to help plow the street, but I don't want to risk it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Ooh, she's shaking her Grace thang.

I am so terribly unenvious of the blizzard. I remember the worst one when we were in Montreal, where entire cars disappeared. It was fun for that night, but when life had to continue, it was miserable.

Me too!

Why would you envy something you are living through?

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

life had to continue

That is the thing that my parents never seem to get. NY doesn't really shut down for snow. They always seem to ask if I think mac will have school or I'll have work.

I am NOT ENVIOUS. I am resentful.

My mom was all "when it clears out" and I started laughing. Mom, this isn't NM. It ain't clearing out. Not getting above freezing before Monday. This snow is here to stay. It'll be here when I get back. Since it will barely get above freezing while I'm gone, I get to come back to icy snow crust. Yuck.

I walked to work in Montreal, so no snow days for me. That's how this programmer became a backup sysop, because I could always make it in and do those tasks. The operators lived far away. In Detroit I worked for fascists, and they made no allowance for dangerous conditions.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

When I was in DC, it was always the people who lived closest who said they "couldn't make it in" in bad weather. Annoying.
