We're under a blizzard warning! Even during the Presidents' Day storm, I don't think we had blizzard conditions. I've never been in a blizzard.
This is reaffirming my inclination to not shovel until later.
SW is letting you rebook without fees. I've got a call in to them.
2 lbs of cubed frozen hashbrowns
1 lb of chopped cooked bacon
1/2 onion diced (I use red onion)
1 big can cream of chicken soup
1 lb sour cream
1/2 stick melted butter
16 oz sharp or colby-jack shredded cheese mixed in plus 8 oz sprinkled on top (I use colby-jack)
Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl and put in a 9 X 13 baking dish sprayed with Pam. Sprinkle additional cheese on top. Bake at 375 degrees for one hour. Then turn oven up to 400 or 425 degrees until browned on top (usually takes 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes total).
Upstairs half vacuumed. Flight changed to Monday afternoon.
I never imagined Garrison Keillor would write anything that made me go
::headdesk::,
but he's done it. Whyfor, sir?
I sort of get Keillor's thing though. Did anyone hear the kid who is part of the National Cathedral's Boys Choir? He talked about how when you sing the old hymns you really think about christmas NOT as santa, yule log etc, but it's about the sacrifice.
This of course led me to think of how all births are gifts. And it's natural then to think that all gifts are really sacrifices.
Of course Keillor's argument would be stronger if he basically talked about the lack of religiousity left in almost all xmas celebrations, not just those who aren't christian.
I've never liked Keillor. But I don't know that I've ever had such a good reason for my distaste. That's appalling.
Good god, Aimee. That sounds delish.
It really is. I had for the first time this summer at my ladies weekend. It was AMAZING. I'm doubling the recipe for my family potluck.
I'm up! I was awakened by my doorbell, which turned out to be FedEx, which is good, but they never want to just leave the box downstairs. She kept yelling my name and saying I had to come get my package, if I wanted it. So I opened the door anyway, threw on clothes, and ran downstairs. To find the box left on the stoop. So I came back upstairs, and a minute later the doorbell rang again! It was a
different
person from Fex Ex! Who
also
wanted me to come down right away!
ISTG. Remind me only to get weekday UPS deliveries in the future -- that guy and I have a good routine that does not involve me running up and down 12 flights of stairs.
Hmmm. My plan for the weekend was to go to my parents' both this afternoon and tomorrow, but maybe I should plan on just sleeping over? I don't really want to, but it's supposed to snow here tonight through noon tomorrow. I'll wait and see if my mother suggests it.
I haven't started my Christmas shopping yet, which means I'm going out in the snow today to do it. Except that I'm having trouble getting lists from anyone.
Does anyone have any good general ideas for an eight year old girl?
