Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have sometimes, have not other times.

I kinda refuse on principal on gifting up the work chain, unless I am just friends with my boss.

Ditto. Although I have received gifts from reports (who I also gave gifts to). I forgot about this year, so, sorry team!

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

My boss will usually get me something small, like a gift card and a loaf of limpa bread from the Swedish Bakery (we're both 1/4 Swedish and she lives near Andersonville, the Swedish neighborhood of Chicago, so it's a little tradition we have). I use my discount at the bookstore to get her Russian Icons calendar every year, which she always reimburses me for, and then I get her a greeting card.

Librarian Warlord

I bring cookies or some other treat into the library for everyone to share, but I don't give individual gifts to people. I do tell my department that on the day before the Winter Break I do not expect them to come back from lunch, and I shut the library down.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Do people get gifts from their bosses?

Nope. I got something for my boss, but mostly b/c she's been going through a really tough time and I saw it and couldn't resist.

PTO is the best gift ever.

Kinda hard for me to do as I have to clock in and out.

Always Anti-fascist!

Well, even with murder, there is a self-defense sort of mitigation, Maybe that's it, although it's more like what Connie said. Mary got called by a spirit...she knew things were going to be okay, eventually, right(I'm not sure if she knew how the Son of God part was going to play out, though.) I'm not sure more mortal-type women feel that all the time when they become pregnant unexpectedly.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I've never received a gift from a boss, and when I was a boss I never gave one. I did receive gifts from my employees, but not Christmas ones, just ad hoc stuff.
