Oh dear. I suppose moving isn't a reasonable option.
I love the turquoise shoes linked above but can not imagine ever buying shoes on line. I can try on dozens of pairs in a store and not find one that feels right.
omg, so sleepy all of a sudden.
I just remembered I have a $100 gift certificate at Zappos I've never used ....
I have 2 $100 gift certs at Zappos (one from work, one I got as a birthday present). Waiting to see if my feet grow before spending as I'll need the cash for sure if none of my shoes fit anymore. BTW, at what point in pregnancy does that happen if it's going to?
Report: Deet, popular and potent insect repellent, is neurotoxic
Well this is bad news. I had a hunch the stuff was evil, even though I've been slathering it on like skin cream when I travel to malaria-infested places. Some 200 million people a year use the stuff, and apparently it's bad news for the brain and nervous system, particularly when combined with other repellents that have similar toxic effects. Snip from a Science Daily article:
The active ingredient in many insect repellents, deet, has been found to be toxic to the central nervous system. Researchers say that more investigations are urgently needed to confirm or dismiss any potential neurotoxicity to humans, especially when deet-based repellents are used in combination with other neurotoxic insecticides.
Vincent Corbel from the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement in Montpellier, and Bruno Lapied from the University of Angers, France, led a team of researchers who investigated the mode of action and toxicity of deet (N,N-Diethyl-3-methylbenzamide). Corbel said, "We've found that deet is not simply a behavior-modifying chemical but also inhibits the activity of a key central nervous system enzyme, acetycholinesterase, in both insects and mammals".
Didn't we know that already, which is why your not supposed to use it on kids?
Of course, what I really notice about that is who did the research. It's a good thing we don't have socialized medicine in this country so we don't lose our edge in research and development!
BTW, at what point in pregnancy does that happen if it's going to?
Not that I want to discourage shoe purchases, but you probably won't know if the feet are going to be or stay a different size until after childbirth.
Oh dear. I suppose moving isn't a reasonable option.
Eh. Not worried about that, I just think it's so sweet that he thinks that's a place for reasoned debate.
You know, I was just thinking that when the posters at Aint It Cool News grow up, they end up trolling the comment threads at Salon's Broadsheet all. day. long. railing against women who won't sleep with them.
