Well, then, this is a day I'll feel good to be me.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The automated machine always mocked me at my old post office -- there would be a huge line of people mailing internationally, picking up packages (usually me), or buying money orders.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

anything heavier has to go to the counter clerk.

Yeah, but you can usually just drop it on the counter, rather than waiting in line. At least, in my post office, which doesn't normally have genteel old ladies yelling at people.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Thank dog I have a post office in the building so I can scope out when the lines are bad. The p.o. in my neighborhood is a freaking nightmare.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

The PO is trying not to hire holiday workers this year

Oh good grief. Note to self: don't wait until the last minute to mail stuff this year.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Back from the doctor. My pee is good. No pneumonia. No infection. Just a flu. "A real flu, like swine or the seasonal." I just have to tough it out through the rest of this week, and continue my ibuprofen gobbling ways.

So. That cost $15 and three hours of my day. And I had to sit in a waiting room for an hour with a mask on my face.

On the plus side: the doctor was nice.

Always Anti-fascist!

well, still good to know there's not a UTI...my last one would not GET OUT, and the anti-b that works the best now gives me hives...that was like the worst August ever.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Hmm. I wonder how full-featured the mailroom at work is. It would be too much to hope they'd let me give them money for postage, I guess. But at least I can drop a package off there.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

We have a full post office at work, which is nice. I can mail packages from there even when I'm on vacation :)

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

A question for people who drink: how unusual do you think it is for someone not to drink? I met a guy at a meetup a week ago, and when I told him I didn't drink, I got this response:

No drinking?? Odd but understandable. More explanation is a definitely necessary.

Is it really an OMGWTF YOU MUST EXPLAIN kind of thing?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Is it really an OMGWTF YOU MUST EXPLAIN kind of thing?

No, it really isn't.
