Everything looks good from here... Yes. Yes, this is a fertile land, and we will thrive. We will rule over all this land, and we will call it... 'This Land.' I think we should call it 'your grave!' Ah, curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal! Ha ha HA! Mine is an evil laugh! Now die! Oh, no, God! Oh, dear God in heaven!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh yeah he is, Mom!

Seriously? That's hilarious.

I am finally hanging stuff on walls. I hung one picture above my mantle, which puts it partly behind the TV, which is kind of weird, but there's really no other place for it to go.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Speaking of which, I just discovered that to get a CO law license, not only do I have to take the CO bar exam, but I also have to take the ethics (MPRE) exam again. Not happy.

I am so sorry. Really I am.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I made some seriously awesome empanadas. The crust in the recipe is always a PITA to work with (it's a very dry puff pastry type dough) so I improv-ed a pie crust instead. I thought I'd put too much butter in, but it turns out there is NO SUCH THING. Nom nom flaky nom.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I made chickpea cutlets, which I'm eating with habanero passion fruit mustard that my parents sent me from Hawaii.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I made a Giada recipe that's become one of my faves. You throw cherry tomatoes and capers in a dish and top with breadcrumbs and olive oil and bake, then toss the whole thing with pasta and peccorino cheese. NOM.
