Oh, Monday.
Today I have to leave work early to get my sister & family to the airport. I wanted to stay home this morning and yell at a contractor that "fixed" a drain that ran between the neighbor's house and ours - and flooded part of our yard. When he did the work I told him it would flood that part of the yard, but he gave me a lecture on how he had 35 years experience and knew what he was doing ("young lady," says he). I remained skeptical as I have 40 years experience as the daughter of a geotechnical engineer, and, frankly, any idiot knows that water runs downhill.
Anyway, it's up to my DH to tell him that there are only two fixes we'll approve (and he's not going to like either one of them, because neither are quick fixes), and my DH doesn't like these confrontations.
Happy Birthday Deena!
It was a big weekend for the dogs. They killed a mole and kitten in our backyard. Our daughter discovered the kitten and got pretty upset about it for awhile. I guess the kitten (or smallish cat, it's hard to tell by the size) was sneaking into our yard and finally got caught.
I am not at work! But am back in the NYC, after a delightful trip to Vegas. Had good times, got a little sunburned but not terrible, and ended up actually winning money! I have a lot of tv to watch today...
("young lady," says he)
Oh, I wanna hurt him now.
Happy Birthday Deena!
After another terrible fevery night, I feel almost better today, except for a headache. I wish this weird virus would just leave.
Happy birthday, Deena!
Yay for winning money, Jesse!
Ugh, hope you feel better soon, Sue! My boss had to call in today due to fever and a squeaky voice, and apparently, one of my coworkers had the same thing last week. I hope it's done making the rounds now, because I don't want to catch it.
And, double ugh--I'm back at work after two weeks of vacation. The e-mail alone took me 15 minutes and that was with my finger on the delete key. (I love my dad dearly, but does he have to send me up to 10 joke e-mails a day? I never read them.)
I hope the virus leaves you alone soon, Sue.
Thanks guys. I am blaming having to go out to the suburbs with my visiting sisters yesterday to see my cousins. The suburbs make you sick!
The suburbs aren't all bad. I live in the suburbs and work in the suburbs. Actually, I very rarely go anyplace in the the city that isn't suburbs. How suburban is my workplace? My office overlooks a gated community on a golf course. This is also why I can't afford to live close to my workplace.
I was in the suburbs just the other day! And avoided getting sick. Poor you, Sue.
