Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Now I'm depressed that the one semi-local place that made a fantastic duck saltimbocca doesn't anymore.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

One of the things I love about my favorite Thai place is they will put duck in any of their dishes for me. Yum.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

sending a message by your tip doesn't work, so you should tip whatever you tip

I will say that I've had tables say they loved the meal, loved the service, hugged me as they left, and that table has only tipped me 12%. I've had other tables appear unhappy, and leave me 20%. I honestly do wish people would tell me if they're unhappy at all with the service or the food so that I can correct it and make the experience better. One table did that with me, and they're now good friends of mine, and a table I'm awlays happy to see.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I think I had Sarameg's day, minus the rain.

Do I want Magic beer, or something harder?

Did I mention sharing the lane with a rude kicker? I avoided several powerful kicks to the gut/boob only by awkward maneuvers. And we did that arm hook twice. And I was hugging the wall. Ass.

I vote harder, that was my route.

I recognize the barracks they are showing on Ft. Hood. My eldest nephew was born at Darnall. Sucky ass food options after 10 pm.

UGH, sarameg.

I could have one magic beer, and one shot of whiskey later.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I endorse this plan. Though, I would skip the magic beer. It is time to switch to whiskey.

Well, the good news is that even a bad swim is a good one. I may have been starving and fighting with my lanemate, but it still left me feeling better. And I didn't create a waterfall in my front room tonight.

Also, the furnace guy said I had a good & reliable type of boiler that should last a while.

And my dentist only turned up 2 new cavities, spots we'd been watching. (I apparently have shitass teeth now, so 2 is a good number.) New crowns in December. Apparently, I have a very acidic mouth (ha ha, I knew that!) because when I recount honestly what I eat, smoke and drink, it doesn't explain the condition of my teeth and how they stain like hell. I have one or 2 cups of coffee or tea a day. A can of diet soda. A cup of juice. Lots of water. Moderate alcohol. Not a lot of sugars. And yet? Shitass teeth.

I'm blaming genetics and not worrying. I'm all about reframing the negatives this week, else...well, it'd be bad.
