I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

And then the 30 minutes I tacked on to the end of the recording weren't enough to catch the last minute or so of play!

I know! Challenges and blah blah blah back and forth. So you probably missed the last Saints interception.

If you put commas on fingers on both hands, and then you could make air quotes with style.

This is the most glorious Scola idea since chopsticks and Cheetos.

I've gone to 45 minutes extra on NFL games, they can really run long. I always watch on delay now and steadfastly avoid finding out what happened until I watch it. I don't think I can go back to not fast forwarding through commercials, time outs, and challenges.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Back to yesterday's quiz questions.

My dad, the engineer with a PhD missed all three due to careless reading.

My son, the 7th grader, got 2/3 and had done the right math for the third, but didn't answer the question asked.

My daughter, the college junior, got them all correct.

I had gotten 2/3 due to misreading the third question.

Not sure what that says about us as a family, other than emphasizing the need to slow down and double check what is being asked. And that applies to so many things in life.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

This week (while we've been insisting that she sleep in her bed all night) she's up every couple hours like a newborn.

Ugh- well, hopefully this is transitory until she gets the hang of sleeping in her bed. Good luck though.

I think I convinced DH to vote before he goes to work, yay!

So you probably missed the last Saints interception.

There was another one? Good lord.

I don't think I can go back to not fast forwarding through commercials, time outs, and challenges.

I like zipping past the commercials, though it is harder to decide when to go to the bathroom or go get something out of the kitchen, but if I try to FF through time outs, etc., the rhythm of the game feels wrong.

That said, there was no reason for me not tack on even more extra time to the end, but I didn't realize it was a good idea.

Daisy! Woo!

{{ZMayhems}} I wish you all sleep. If only it was that was enough to make it so.

After the Falcons scored a field goal, they recovered the onside kick (through this really bizarre pile-up where no one would move and refs were basically having to bodily move players off the pile). Part of the reason the final minute took so long is because Payton called a timeout *just* as they kicked, so he could see which formation they were going with, which doesn't seem quite fair to me.

Anyway, with like 10 seconds left they tried a Hail Mary, and Sharper picked it off before the end zone.

(WHO DAT?)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm wearing my Jilli boots today--granny boots with ribbon laces. I know the proper Jilli thing to do would have been to replace the black ribbons with pink ones, but I'm sticking with what shipped. Felt like a match for the long black velvet skirt, although my top isn't the least bit gothlike. I so overdress for my department, but I can't work out the female equivalent of chinos.

Compassionately intolerant

I've finally pulled out Ray, the trusty light box.

Hee. I never named my light box...but considering how many years it has gotten me through dark days, I should throw it a party.

Last year was an anomaly though. Didn't pull it out once. So far this year, there has been sufficient light. I wonder if I've outgrown SAD. Nah. Remind me I asked that in the middle of December.

Thans for the recap, Dana. My recording cut off before the field goal, though I inferred that from the final score. Craziness. And good for Sharper, he was on the hunt.
