There's a potluck happening in the meeting room next to my office. It is loud.

The HSA we have has a credit card which is really convenient, though it sometimes triggers requests for receipts. Also, you can upload electronic copies of stuff that you can't use the card for and it will deposit straight into your account. It is really pretty handy.
My boss has just asked me to keep my work to 40 hours a week. I know he doesn't want me to come in later, there's nowhere to go for an hour at lunch every day--can I really leave an hour earlier?

When I worked for the government, we *had* to take at least a 30 minute lunch or we were violating some law. Does he care if you leave early? Can you reduce lunch to 30 minutes maybe?
We have the HSA with a high deductible. It's worked out okay, mostly. The only real problem I've run into is that I've had to pay some expense that don't count towards my deductible - like therapist visits are supposed to cost us less than we actually pay, so the only lesser amount comes out of the deductible - so we actually just ran out of money and have yet to meet the deductible. But we haven't had to file our own claims or anything, and if you don't use the money in the HSA, it's still yours, you just have to pay taxes on it if you use it for a different purpos. It doesn't disappear like Cafeteria funds
Very cool student geneology project!
All US Presidents except Martin Van Buren are distantly related:
BridgeAnne d'Avignon, who attends Monte Vista Christian School in Watsonville, traced that Obama, and all other U.S. presidents except Martin Van Buren, are related to John "Lackland" Plantagenet, a king of England and signer of the Magna Carta.
The student and her grandfather, who is a genealogist, spent this past summer designing the first known family tree chart in history that shows the presidents' direct relationship. BridgeAnne's grandfather has researched president genealogy for 60 years.
Thank you for the HSA info. This is too confusing, and I probably should go to an info session. And I am about 20 kinds of angry right now between the legal married same sex partner benefits being taxable!!!!! and the OMGWTFBBQ anti obesity craziness in the manual that I just read to try and figure out the HSA.
ETA- How the heck is EVERYONE related except Martin Van Buren of all people! Where did he come from?
What! Wow! That's cool. How weird that Martin Van Buren, of all people, is the excluded one. Obama was clearly BORN to be President!
Now she should see how any of the losing candidates were related to this guy and see if there's some sort of cosmic destiny thing going on.
I can't read the geneology link. For some reason every time I open the page, it scrolls to the bottom and I can't get it back up.
I wonder how many of the population at large are related to this guy? And yeah, where did Martin Van Buren come from?
