So the trick or treaters have been lame thus far. I've moved from my perch by the door to the dining room, I am getting so few kids. Oz has even given up looking out the front door.

At the 5 minutes I was in the mall I saw two slutty maids and a slutty fairy. Stay classy, mall employees.

This morning I let the cats out while I planted tulips and OZ went across the street while my back was turned. I went across to get him and when I bent down to picked him up, he spazzed and attacked me, and then ran under a shrub. I don't think he recognized me. I finally got him out with food. I would never declaw a cat myself, but I was very happy he was declawed this morning.

I splurged and bought a spicy ginger cookie at whole foods this morning. OMG SO GOOD

I had my first TorTers just as I got home! A disney princess and a baby in butterfly wings with the hair on the top of her head twisted into a couple little antennae. She totally recoiled when I put some candy in her basket. Heh.

Did my weekend crazy at the pool, 50 laps. Wheee!

Having re-delurked (re-surfaced, whatever) I feel likeI should make an effort to post more than once a year.

It'll be dark here & cold -- 3C -- for trick or treating so jury-rigging a warm costume is essential. Nora is Batman Batperson with warm tights & a turtleneck underneath. The Blue-Eyed Boy is a zombie with lots of ripped, torn & bloodstained layers.

Neither of them have had a timeout yet, but the night is young...

It's actually really nice weather for it tonight. It was pretty much raining off and on all day, but warmish. The rain has stopped, and now it's 70 and pleasantly humid with a light breeze.

I remember a couple of really cold Halloweens in Las Cruces, but most were pretty mild.

I kinda hate my screen door. It's cheap and metal and whenever some kid knocks, the banging startles me. I feel like I should sit out on my porch or something. I do have wireless and a laptop....

I just sent my kids to see their MiL. I should have taken pictures first. I suck, but fear not, there will be pictures before they set out to TorT.

The kids basically carved every pumpkin we had in the house, including the one that was supposed to be made into pie. But really, who am I to stop a little girl when she's wielding a pumpkin carver?

Happy Halloween everyone! I am headed to the city in what I hope won't be a nightmare of 2-bridge traffic for a dinner with friends in the Sunset. I'm hoping we get some trick or treaters.

Just a couple sets so far. I've got the front door open and Loki keeps gaslighting me in his desperate attempts to open the door. At one point he was hanging from the handle, bunny-kicking the door and frame, all while crying. Devi was looking at him like he was crazy.
