Saffron: But we've been wed. Aren't we to become one flesh? Mal: Well, no, uh... We're still two fleshes here, and I think that your flesh ought to sleep somewhere else.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

It is DARK outside. And RAINING. Why the hell am I not in bed?

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I'm not sure how to reply to him.

Standard editor's reply? "does not meet our needs at this time"?

So far, today is better than yesterday. For the first time in weeks, I do not feel like crawling in a hole and hibernating.

(Of course, I realized on the subway that I also forgot my prenantal vitamin last night, which may explain the shiny new lack of nausea. But I'm choosing to believe it means the second trimester is nigh.)

In regard to caskets for cremation - I believe using small amounts of metal would be all right. I read a book in which someone sees what comes out of the cremation oven and the metal staples used in the plywood/fiberboard casket are removed afterwards with a magnet.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My current fear is realizing that the cable company could come as early as 10 tomorrow. It looks like I do have a neighbor with unsecured wireless, so that would help me. Now I have to run errands, which I guess means getting dressed....
