Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Plus the Bible says we have dominion over all the animals. (I've heard that as an argument against vegetarianism.)

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I've heard it as an argument for vegetarianism. "Dominion" means we're supposed to protect them, not exploit them. The same passage lists which plants or parts of plants should be eaten by people, and which by animals, and make no mention of people eating animals.

Actually, a former Bush advisor wrote a book called Dominion which was an argument for animal rights and vegetarianism.

Whenever I am hating people, I need to watch PS22 chorus on youtube. Those kids are so lucky to have that teacher. And I say that as someone who can't sing.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

CARamel or CAREamel? Or, CARmel, I guess.

I have lazy pronunciation with this one -- CAR-mel.

Ooh! I got cited in the New York Times! (Under "One For My Baby.")

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I switch between CAR-ml and CARE-a mel. CAR-ml is the one I was "born" with and CARE a mel the one I picked up later. Of course, my family says "acrost" instead of "across".

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm mostly CAR-ml, but will say CARE-a mel for the individually wrapped cubes.

To me, Car-ml is the substance, and the cubes are Car-mls or CARE-a mels. So CARE-a mels are made of Car-ml.

Born with CARml, switch hit to CARA-mel. Never know which is gonna come out. The latter tends to for the fancy stuff. Though I think of the former as hard, the latter as soft.
