Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Peter Sagal's Halloween Decorations

The host of NPR's awesome news quiz/comedy extravaganza, "Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me!", has put up his annual Halloween display. It is a nativity scene of evil. I heart it.

Huh. Did anyone know this?

Eat More Black Pepper to Increase Your Food's Nutritional Value

The amount of nutrients your body consumes from a food is called bioavailability, which is always less than what your food truly contains. According to weblog Wise Bread, studies show that black pepper has the ability to increase the bioavailability in a good portion of the foods we eat, thus making our meal and snack choices have a better impact on our health. We wouldn't go as far as to suggest adding it to your morning cereal, but next time the waiter asks if you'd like some freshly ground pepper, you may do well to say yes.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I really wish CNN would stop posting so many details about the gang rape story right on their front page. It's disturbing the hell out of me, to the point where I had a nightmare about it last night, and I don't even have any specific triggers.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

it's so weirdly and sickeningly fetishistic, Dana. Ugh.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I'm restless and keep having the urge to either spend money or eat. not good. I have plenty of things that NEED to get done, both at work and at home, but can't seem to focus on them for longer than a minute or two. Also over the past week I've been staying up later then is good and not doing anything productive, just the endless refreshing pages on the computer or clicking from channel to channel on the tv.

hormones? mild depression? strage rare disease that will surely be the death of me?

I vote that you have computeritis, msbelle. I have the same issue now. Or it could be just a response to stress.

Over 50% of my students are out on a field trip. Seriously.
