The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

You know what I love?

Being told two months after I start a project that I did the initial part wrong because I didn't do something that I had never been told to do.

eta: it turned out not to matter, but still. We're information specialists. Try giving me the information I need.

Electromagnetic candy! - Stark

Sophia, let's rant together.

I mean CONGRESS had to WASTE TIME PASSING A RESOLUTION AFFIRMING HIS CITIZENSHIP.

Has that *ever* happened to any other President? I can't find evidence of it.

I don't know where to send them, though - just somewhere ELSE, on the other side of a nice WALL (like in Rucker's SCIFI, we could exile them to Florida) and leave them there to stew in their own hypocrisy and madness.

This is why I plot to take over the world, BTW. I'm much saner than they are.

But isn't the answer always going to be "spend time with my too adorable for words child"?

Well, yes! And her little dog, too.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

ARE THESE BIRTHER PEOPLE IDIOTS?!?!

Oh hell yeah.

Is this the what-I'm-having-for-lunch thread? I had appointments all morning, so I decided to swing by a favorite restaurant and get lunch to go before heading back home to work.

From here, I got 1/2 an Avocado Bliss sandwich (with turkey instead of tofu), and 1/2 a Blue Gingered Pear salad. Oh dear god is that yummy.

Not really, it was just a routine thing for a state anniversary. Slipping in the thing about it being the birthplace of Obama was a clever political move, but not really out of place either.

This does seem to be an amazingly dumb movement though.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I have to stop thinking about it, because it makes me so angry and I do not like being angry.

My boss says anger drives her to do good things, but for me it just makes me a) sick and b) unpleasant to be around.

And I am so annoyed that this teacher of ours, who I liked well enough is posting asinine things about Islam, the "false religion" and Obama and tea parties. I shut her off, and I still see her on the side, and I can't defriend her because I work with her, and she talks to me.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

This does seem to be an amazingly dumb movement though.

I blame our media. They seem to be unable to address any complex issue (or even simple issues) in any other way than the "he said-she said" way. So people can make factually idiotic statements, and the media never actually points out that these statements are, you know, untrue.

Krugman had a good parody of this years ago. He said that if Republicans came out and said the Earth was flat, then Democrats would say that was not true, and newspaper headlines would be "Shape of the World: Two Opposing Views."

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Happy birthday, Shir! And happy anniversary to Sheryl and her DH!

This weekend: Dad'll be here in an hour for the afternoon, and then I have got to get over to the grocery store. I also have to drop off my old computer at the electronics store for recycling and also run over to Goodwill to drop off some more stuff, then stop by the bookstore to see what my schedule is for next week. After that, I get to relax--yay! I'm thinking about going to see Harry Potter on the IMAX (complete with 3D sequences), but since I've already seen it twice, maybe not.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Wow - I would think it was pretty risky for a teacher, even at a University to be posting such things.

I really want an avocado salad from the Ethiopian restaurant, but I brought lunch and it is a long wal over there. Maybe we'll go get Ethiopian on Sunday.

Islam, the "false religion"

To some extent, if you don't accept that the Qur'an is the true word of God as delivered by Gabriel to Muhammad, then you consider Islam a "false religion". Maybe it's a matter of context.
