Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Direct TV is the satellite, right?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Ants vs. Crab

Ants are such amazing creatures! Able to work together to create vast underground empires and take down almost any animal of any size…even humans! So, what happens when a creature such as the crab ends up getting the ants attention? In a Goliath vs. David (x100 or so) situation a crab thinks its protective armor is a deterrent preventing the ants from killing it, guess again. I can’t imagine what it must feel like having something start eating you from the inside out.

Gross to think about, but the video is less gross than I thought it would be....

I just skipped a hundred posts, but I'm going to answer Perkins question about the weekend.

Tonight, N, K, my mom and me went to one of the two first free clinics around LA for our H1N1 vaccine. I can't really explain why I feel so relieved to have gotten it, but it was kind of crazy. (They ran out and had to bring more down and we were in the last 100 or so they vaccinated.

Tomorrow we are going to the Aquarium and then to the Arboretuem. Sunday I have a ton of work to do but then we are going to a hockey game.

Kinda thinking it will be hard for me to get the H1N1 vacc here. Severe shortage, out of their priority list.

Normally, I don't do flu vaccs, but given the Y and herd immunity....

Heh. Project Rungay has affected our household conversation.

I just pointed at JZ and barked: "You! Lesbian! Martini?"

sara, I was pretty sure I wouldn't be able to get a vaccine before I got swine flu itself. But I got both my seasonal flu shot this week, my swine flu shot and my TB test.

We have to take Noah back in four weeks, but I'm so irked that his regular doc won't even do seasonal flu for him.

hip deep in pie

They just interviewed someone on the local news who is recovering from H1N1 and his long drawn-out recovery sounds a lot like my long drawn-out recovery from the cold I got in NY. Nothing was very fluish about this--It felt like a cold from the get go.

I just bought TG tickets. Pricier than before, but fuckit.

They are rationing H1N1 here. It's hard to get. Right now, it is just hospitals and high risk. And they don't have enough for them.

Here they are doing 9 hour clinics every day at multiple sites. Today it was two sites and tomorrow it will be 13 and every day after it varies.

They see ~300 people per hour.

That's a lot of vaccine.
