Bobby McFerrin is amazing. If you ever get the chance to see him in concert, do it. DO EEEET.

And, OtoClimateChangeH, there's some thought that it's only jet contrails that are keeping us from catastrophic warming.
Bah, year-end review time. I need to list "Actions to enhance professional capability, some of which may be values / key behavior focused."

I go look at Crate & Barrel or similar, and then think that $400 is rock-bottom pricing. Of course in real life, it's a lot of money, but so many sofas are so much more!
Most of the decent sofas I looked at a couple years ago when I had to replace The Most Comfortable Couch in the World® were in the $700-800 range. Other than the one I actually bought, the under $500 options were pretty low quality.
So I just walked to the farmer's market that the local hospital is holding every Friday. I bought a big bag of veggies, a baguette, a coffee, a box of blueberries for one coworker, and pastries for me and another co-worker. And somewhere in the block between my work and the farmer's market, I lost the pastries. Booo! I am too tired to retrace my steps, but I really wanted that croissant.
I was at Crate & Barrel last weekend and there was like one piece of furniture under a grand. I tried to convince myself I could spend $1700 on a recliner but no.
I am thinking of getting rid of my incredibly uncomfortable L-couch and replacing it with these: [link] [link] and something like this: [link]
(The colors on the chair are a lot richer in person than they appear here.)
The big hang-up (other than waiting to see if they go on sale closer to the holidays) is that before I can buy anything I need to get rid of two large couches and just contemplating that has me paralyzed with helplessness. But I really, really need to. I'd lose the spare sleeping room from the couch (it pulls out into a full size bed) but hopefully I'd gain a space that I actually want to spend time in.
Wow if you look at the US prices for Pier 1, they seem reasonable. Brenda's love seat is $300 more in Canada.
One of the many great things about amyth moving in next door is that she was interested in getting some furniture. So I was able to transfer a love seat and two dressers that were just too big for my space. Otherwise I'd still be bumping into them because, yeah, getting rid of large furniture can be a pain.
The flowered chair looks fun, brenda!
This weekend I have a running group meetup, a pumpkin carving, and possibly some work to get done. My boss hasn't asked me to do it on the weekend, but I'm getting a little worried about the schedule. It's all stuff I can do on my couch, with old MacGyver episodes playing in the background, and Saturday's supposed to be rainy around here anyway.
