Now hold on, I'm gonna press the right pedal harder. I expect us to accelerate.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

What are people doing this weekend?

I started off by buying a new baby car seat (he's outgrowing his capsule). We have some people coming over tomorrow, and on Sunday we'll be heading to Knox City to shop for summer outfits for the little man and visit the library (it has a Chinese language section). I also have a presentation for class next week, and will probably also assemble his cot (he's outgrowing his bassinette).

What are people doing this weekend?

Sleeping, reading, possibly tackling the growing paper problem I have at home.

I fell asleep while reading last night and woke up at 11:30 PM. Apparently that was enough sleep to keep me up until 4:30 AM. If you're feeling less gronkified than usual, it's because I have all the gronk in the world.

On the plus side, we have a visitor at work today: [link]

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Oh, dear God, that's an incredibly adorable visitor!

And yay Callaluna for finding My So-Called Life!

It's my supervisor's dog, and it's got to be the most mellow dog ever. He's totally content to curl up on his dog bed and nap most of the day. My co-worker and I are used to big, hyperactive labs and goldens, and are a bit baffled by this dog that doesn't jump up, charge at you, or fetch or play tug-of-war. But he's a sweetie.

“Not dead yet!”

This weekend will be spent celebrating The Young Diva's twelfth birthday! (Tomorrow) and probably sorting through More Stuff to Give Away before the big move.

Tangentially: what is it about house inspection reports that, no matter how mild, make you feel as if the house is going to come crashing down around your ears?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

That Bobby McFerrin clip is great. I would have failed at it, but it was great.

This weekend I might go watch UFC on PPV.

Coding and Sleeping

This weekend is very contingent. There might be might be painting if the weather cooperates. There is a soccer game to go to Saturday assuming the weather cooperates. We may well do a library trip unless painting takes up too much time. Then the usual stuff, cleaning, kid stuff, etc. If my Windows 7 Upgrade arrives, then I'll probably tear down my computer and make all my changes to it. I have a critique to do, and hopefully some writing.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm sure that's why he did it with the audience, and not the panel, you know what I mean? I heart him.

This weekend, I am packing. And seeing friends, and getting my nails done, and going to the library to just drop off books and not get any new ones. :( Today I have to do some work, even though I'm off. In general, I am really freaking out.

Because books.

We're going to be the kids' Halloween costumes together (one Roaming Gnome, one zombie cheerleader), possibly seeing Where the Wild Things Are, and figuring out why the kitten is taking so long to get the hang of the litter box (grrrr). Oh, and making a Halloween gingerbread house that Perkins sent the kids!

Isn't it fun being confronted with Every Damned Thing That Is Wrong? And the thing is, there is no positively worded stuff in there. If it's fine, it's either not mentioned or you just get neutral verbiage.
