Jayne: Yeah, that was some pretty risky sittin' you did there. Wash: That's right, of course, 'cause they wouldn't arrest me if we got boarded, I'm just the pilot. I can always say I was flying the ship by accident.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My sister has me fixing her Word docs and cutting and pasting from Excel to Word. It seems simpler than telling her how to do it, despite her abundant intellect. I set their computers up, but the frustrating part is remote support. I suck at that.

Gotta love the whoosh of last-minute revelations when you're creating a requirements document. How many drawing boards are there, anyway?

(Can I just say that the fact that my bf is a computer geek is made of AWESOME, and I find it ridiculously sexy that we have a WHOLE WALL of computers and we can sit side-by-side and geek out on separate internet communities? Ok, that's out of my system -- he fixed the Internet last night! FOR ME!)

That is to say, yes, I make sure to be pathetically grateful to any friend/loved one who fixes or ties to fix any PC snafus.

So did he ask you to fix his computer, then tell you he wished you hadn't touched it?

Yes, he asked me to fix it, but I did rush some and didn't ask enough questions about what he wanted me to do, I had other things to do. Mostly I'm just venting because it's frustrating.

Vent away! (But I really can do a sly, drive-by calf-spork.)

Gud wins. We have only two hard drives, 2 monitors and...lots of other stuff with wires. But it takes up a whole wall, flanked by built-in bookcases!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I am already looking forward to cleaning up my father's computer. Not that I'm any kind of tech genius, but I'm pretty sure it actually has enough oomph not to run as slow as it does.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Owen did awesome at the dentist today! I stayed in the waiting room and our favorite hygeinist managed him very well. We're making progress!

Afterward, I took him back to school and ate lunch in the cafeteria with him. School lunches haven't improved much. But it's cute to see wee kids get their lunch, pick their entree, eat and bus their own tables. I even got to enjoy recess with the kids. And by enjoy, I mean boggle at the fact that this was exactly like watching 100 spider monkeys on a crack binge. *shudder* WE DO NOT PAY TEACHERS ENOUGH. EVER.

I have a laptop and a desktop, two external hard drives, and three flash drives. And a work machine. Soon I will have another desktop. I haven't purchased a netbook yet, but I'm sure I'll cave soon.

You've got me way beat on computers per person ratio. Two of ours hardly count as they are old computers re-purposed to DVR duty.
