JZ's talked about it before too. I have the first book but have never made myself read it. I'd like to read that one and then dive in to the Slactivist takedown.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Yeah, well I unearthed another similar skirt from that time, a 9, and that one definitely won't zip up! So those skirts are equally oddly sized. (I had no idea I still had these. Found them in a rubber tub. Just wished I'd saved all the silk sleeveless blouses from back then, they were just lovely!)
But I did find out the faux suede plum sheath dress & jacket fit again.
I'm giving everything to a friend of mine to go through and take what she wants, then I'll figure out what to do with the rest. I've got 3 suits I'll probably consign, they're in good shape and rarely worn.
The books aren't worth the indigestion -- and the Slacktivist critique is detailed enough that you can follow along without them.
Good to know! I bought the book years ago off eBay to avoid adding to the already fake sales numbers but, yeah no.
Can anyone explain the mystery of how Moxie soda is still being sold after more than a century despite tasting like it does? I like old-fashioned sasparilla drinks and thought I'd give it a try, but I can't imagine anyone willingly choosing to drink that swill over water.
If you think Moxie is bad, try (or don't) Diet Moxie. It's even worse.
Congrats to Jess, Gris, Spidra and anyone else who I might have missed.
A 9 is junior (=teenager) sizing (most odd numbers are), and doesn't necessarily correlate well to the even ("misses") sizes. Juniors tend to be cut slimmer, which makes sense in a way since they are intended as teen sizes.
I think I've mentioned here that I've been reading the Slacktivist's most excellent critique and commentary on the Left Behind books, where he really gets into the crappy theology these Christianists use.
Yeah, reading that is both amusing and scary.

I've been reading that, too, and he REALLY takes the books apart well. I just wish he'd go faster.
mac is being a pill. got a new to him video game today (he traded something in via some website and his uncle and I held out on giving it to him for 2 weeks). Anyhoo - he only gets to play DS on the train, in cars and as of this past Friday, 15-20 minutes at home on Friday after therapy. He decided that the car ride from uncle's to here was not enough of the new game, so he threw a fit went in his room and slammed the door announcing I was not to enter. I didn't, I watched tv. after 30-45 minutes I established with him that by playing the game he was breaking the rules. I continued watching tv, and picked up all his crap from the living room ( a task he was asked to do over the last week) and deposited it trip by trip into the middle of his room. He ignored my 8:30 announcement that he needed to get ready for bed. Ignored me turning off the tv at 9. and now I am about to go disturb him for the last time to tell him that I am extremely disappointed and priviledges are going away.
Uggh, msbelle.
I recently discovered that I can't get a vintage 16 skirt over my hips. In current sizes I wear a 12.
