Yes, there is. There's a hurry, Xander. I'm dying...I may have as few as fifty years left.

information libertarian

I had to memorize the kings of France at one point. We made up a song. I can't remember it, but I can still recite A Helene by Pierre de Ronsard.

Because books.

I used to be fascinated with the First Ladies (and sisters, etc., for the unmarried guys). I had a shiny book about them from a childhood trip to D.C. The presidents themselves just never interested me as much.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Oh, did you see the first ladies' dresses at the Smithsonian? Since we lived near DC and my parents were very big on museums, I saw those once a month throughout my childhood.

Oh yeah, saw those. I love trips to D.C.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Or maybe I should go visit sporcle.com. Sporcle?

No idea where the name came from but there are quizzes on all sorts of topics: geography, history, language, TV, etc.

For geography and things like U.S. presidents the maps/lists are blank and if you put in a right answer they fill in where it should go. So you don't have to know the placement/order, but I try to do them in order to teach myself (when you hit "give up" you can see all the answers).

megan walker, I hereby assign blame to you for all the time I will waste at sporcle.com. So much fun. So, it's the good kind of blame, fwiw.

My brain doesn't function even half as quickly as it used to, I think. Files and Records needs to step it up. Perhaps sprocle will help with that. Ahem.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

We had this book when I was in university and my roommate and I would entertain ourselves for hours reading aloud the craziest bits. (Ok, totally politics geeks, but still. Funny stuff.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

it really is a huge relief to have somewhere to go each day

Isn't it though? Plus, paid.

Kat, there should be a ban on anyone not living with a kid getting them musical instruments. And if you are living with them, there should be some sort of voting mechanism. Because...ow.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am having the weirdest afternoon. Total fail on finding mac turtlenecks, none at jcp or old navy, guess I'll be shopping online, because I cannot manage macy's today. Now grabbing lunch at a southern styled place. They have buffalo chicken po boys on the menu, just no. Also no fried okra as a side, am sad. Also, they sat me in a non-empty room, but in a corner on the wall with a big flat screen, so everyone oin the room is facing me. I'm moving.
