But that's just my point! You she obeys! She obeys you! There's obeying going on right under my nose!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Thank goodness that book is out! I was begining to think there might be a riot

It's a phenomenon! Not quite up to Rowling standards, but there was eager awaiting.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Good luck with the job stuff, Jess.

I hope ita's having a good day.

My day has been bananas. Put Owen on the bus at 8:30, took Liv to preschool at 9, stayed for her swim lesson, left to volunteer at Owen's classroom from 10-11, picked Liv up from school at 11:30, went to the gym to work out at 1 and am now prepping for a board meeting at 5.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

brand new, just available copy of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days

I do hope that the barcode on this book scans with our register scanner, as opposed to the most recent book in the series, which I always have to key in. It's a first-world complaint, but it is a PITA.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

If it makes anyone at work feel better, I have to go into the office to do a few things that I didn't have time to do on Friday before I leave town tomorrow.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I have so far used my day off to bake cinnamon sugar muffins, drink my newly arrived Kona coffee, watch birds (song sparrows on their migration!), play with the dog, exclaim over our also newly arrived buffalo hide (thank goodness it was only half--it takes up the whole couch as it is), watch Mad Men, and work up some piano/vocal songs with the SO.

Pretty doggone close to my vision of a perfect day. Later there will be hockey on the teevee, and chicken fajitas for dinner.

The bonus of us getting all ready for kiddoes and then not having any on Saturday is that the house was clean for Sunday, so I can loll with impunity.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

This is pretty great: Muse Refuse To Lip Sync.

Muse performed their new single "Uprising" on an Italian TV show recently and were told they had to lip sync the performance, so the band gave them what they wanted. Lead singer and guitarist "Matthew Bellamy" decided to fake the drums while the real drummer "Dominic Howard" took on vocal duties. Bassist Christopher Wolstenholme "played" the guitar and Keyboards.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Monday is a normal day off. Did the grocery store run, put more stuff out of the coming rain, and started a beef stew.

I have to finish a load of laundry, do something about my clothes , and clean the kitchen.

Nothing hard or too outrageous, but I would rather be 5 today.

eta: I could also be the cat, but he doesn't get beef stew
