"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Sweet. Will look for the email. You can be assured that I'll bang it up and scratch the gilt off! Hee.

I love apple picking too! It used to be one of my favorite growing up in Ohio things.

And we had a great orchard in New Mexico, although not a pick-your-own. But here we're missing it. I was actually thinking about looking for one.

There's actually some sort of orchard on our way to our farmer neighbor, but I don't know if it's nuts or what, and they never put a sign out, so they are either not actively cultivating or they don't sell to the public. It's not apples, though, because I can't see the fruit.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Okay, I lied. I know I have your e-mail address somewhere, but I can't find it. Can you e-mail me?

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I'm also missing Fall and really missing my mom (and dad, too). I've been having fantasies about moving closer. Can't tell if it's just hormones/nesting or my real feelings. We'll find out, I guess. I love this time of year, so it's kind of sucky to feel melancholy. But I am really excited to be getting closer to meeting my son!

Insent, Dana. And huh. I thought I had my profile addy displayed but I must have turned it off in a fit of pique or something. Oh, no, I remember, I turned it off to see what it looked like on the stompy page when the address was private. Forgot to turn it back on, I guess.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

OH! I forgot the best part of my weekend.

Monday - have off from work, but am not telling mac. He is going to the YMCA for full-day camp and I am wrangling some paperwork as well as doing some paint stripping that has needed doing for YEARS.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Weekend plans:

Tonight: Wedding reception for some lesbian friends who got married this week.

Tomorrow: errands, watching my boys play the Marines in rugby (mmmmmm), exBF's birthday bash, and watching a friend's performance at the strip club/drag bar. Possibly making savory bread pudding with stale croissant.

Sunday: relaxing, doing laundry, cleaning house, making scones (dried cherry and homemade candied ginger - v excited)

Monday: Packing for work trip, making a nice roast with my lemon-bacon brussel sprouts. And eating any leftover scones.

“Not dead yet!”

Weekend:

Spending more time recovering, which involves catching up on my teevee watching. Hopefully, at some point, I won't be so drugged I can't get some writing done. I, too, am very wistful for fall, but I wander around chuckling to myself thinking that next year at this time, I will have actual fall again!

And if it wasn't for the fact that it's going to be eleventy-billion degrees this weekend, I'd make an apple pie because I want pie.
