I love new appliances, but I've seen too many "luxury" apartments showing off brand-new kitchens that look like they've been lifted straight out of the IKEA catalog.

Exactly! The one thing that I really love about the house we're hoping to get is that while the kitchen was newly remodeled and had the spiffy appliances and granite countertops, it didn't look like it had been lifted out of a catalog. It had some personality to it, with the lighting fixtures and the drawer pulls-- little things that really contributed to give it a sense of whimsy.

Wouldn't it be cool if our government had a Judicial branch that was independent of the legistlative and Executive branches and that could issue rulings if things were unconstitutional or not?

What are you, some kind of socialist?

Heh. It's funny that our Supreme Court is dominated by conservatives, and yet that's not good enough for these people....

Just got back from getting the estimate on fixing my bumper. A month's rent. Oy. I definitely can't do that right away. Need to find a way to patch it in the meanwhile. It's going to look like crap whatever I do, but I can't have it being dangerous.

We have the East Coast special. Snow and rain, that freezes into a lovely coating of ice once it soaks you as slush.

Oh Sue! Ick! Is it wrong to confess it is my favourite time of year to talk to my colleagues further east of me (which is everyone) and taunt them? Because that won't stop me.
