Spike: You pissed in the Big Man's Chair? That's fantastic! Gunn: Spike, can you please turn off that warm fuzzy? Spike: What, the Lorne thing? Worn off. I just think that's bloody fabulous.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

So there was apparently such a strong headwind, the plane had to stop in Salt Lake City to refuel. I won't be getting into SFO until midnight.

UGH. You will be here though!

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I've heard good things about Talladega Nights-- it falls into the group of things my sister forces bits of upon me (I made her watch Buffy and she still hasn't forgiven me), but I do regret watching Borat.

I can lend it to you. Parts are funny -- I think it suffers in comparison to Anchorman, but like I say, SBC is great in it.

Also, I've been meaning to give you a bottle of Tia Maria, so I should just tape them together for when I see you next.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

when I see you next.

Isn't Machida fighting this month? Wanna go somewhere and see the PPV?

Damn, I really need to hear back from the recruiter on the job. I'm supposed to start next Monday, and I'm just panicking that something went wrong with my background check because they were having difficulty verifying my last position. I will have to call tomorrow instead of waiting to hear back from them. I need stability.

I was going to invite you to that -- I'm sure there'll be a group, so I'll be in touch when I know.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

UGH. Hello insomnia!

I can't sleep and my brain is racing. I was told at 3:30 PM yesterday that they are combining my 20 kid AP class 1st period with someone else's 37 kid honors class and I have to start teaching it today.

This is because we lost two teachers on norm day (which was yesterday). I'm so pissed and so angry and so devastated because on of the teachers was very excellent.

So everything I have and all we have done so far for AP doesn't apply ... totally different curriculum -- in fact Honors is supposed to expository composition so it's a totally different shtick. In fact, the ONLY book I have access to that is appropriate for the curriculum is Into the Wild, which is not really a grabber for my inner city kids. Thank god I have a donors choose proposal for In Cold Blood but sadly I don't have the books and won't have them for a while.

I'm just stressed at the thought of all this and can't sleep.

“Not dead yet!”

I knew the Baron Cohen stuff with the exception of the breakdancing, but like others, it doesn't surprise me. And that's without ever having watched anything of his with any kind of regularity, although I will agree that I was a) pleasantly surprised by Talladega Nights and b) he was about the best thing in it, along with Gary Cole.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I will just point out that the question was about what facts are surprising. I didn't necessarily know them, but my impression of SBC is a tall, good-looking, smart guy about my age. Therefore, none of the facts were especially surprising.

“Not dead yet!”

I also seem to recall reading an interview with him where the reporter observed that SBC's laptop screensaver was a picture of his grandmother, which I thought was utterly sweet.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Oh geez, Kat, that sucks in so many different ways. Not to mention, if I was a parent of one of those AP or Honors students I'd be capital-F Furious.

The SBC schticks I've run across haven't given me any reason to seek more out -- but I can see the dude is actually intelligent and talented, so I'm not altogether surprised at the further revelations here.

Kat, 57 kids?? WTF? Are you going to have to keep that many or are they going to change your classes *again*?
