I want to torture you. I used to love it, and it's been a long time. I mean, the last time I tortured someone, they didn't even have chainsaws.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Nope, sorry.

Well, crap.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

An un (less?) retouched picture of the Ralph Lauren model in the ad that tommy linked to yesterday. I completely fail to see the point of making her look like that. It certainly doesn't help the clothes any. They're still fugly.

I keep seeing ads for the new Steven Seagal series, and it just makes me laugh. I'm sure many of the people he arrests are relatively chuffed by the personnel, even if they're pissed at the turn of events itself. I just can't keep from thinking about what an ass he's supposed to be.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Randomly, I'm watching old Sesame Street clips. When did the set get so clean? I remember it looking like a typical grungy city street, like this: [link] In newer clips, that green door got much brighter green and the steps look brand new. [link]

Gentrification, man.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Which of the following facts about Sacha Baron Cohen is surprising to you:

  • He lead a teenage breakdance crew.
  • He spent a year on a kibbutz.
  • He supported himself as a male model in the years right after university.
  • He read in History in Cambridge with his thesis on the involvement of Jews in the American Civil Rights Movement.
  • He played both Tevye and Cyrano de Bergerac for Cambridge Footlights.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

None

Probably the breakdancing bit. Though I suppose it doesn't say they were GOOD breakdancers...watching SYTYCD I've now seen a lot of mediocre and BAD break dancers...

They are fugly clothes. But I will say that the model herself reminds me of Brooke Shields and is more beautiful in the less retouched photo.

Why would anyone make someone's waist look smaller than her head is beyond me.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I knew all of those except the breakdancing, and it doesn't really surprise me.
