Yeah. I was kinda' thinking of an early Bloom County cartoon, where Steve Dallas is sitting at a bar complaining about being dumped. He says to Opus, "Is there anything worse than being dumped by a dame?" and Opus replies, "Being eaten by a walrus."

I think I fell in love with Opus then (if I hadn't already).
