I am just home from Pilates, my first time back in a couple of weeks due to The Cold That Would Not Die. Felt great. I loves it, I do.
Now to clean the house.

Pilates is fab. I've just ordered a new yoga mat so that I can do more of it. I need a decent video, either online or to buy on DVD, as pilates class teachers tend to be nervous of me (physio's approval letter doesn't help!) Any video recommendations anyone has would be much appreciated.
I wish some country in Europe had arrested Polanski decades ago, instead of waiting until now. I'm really not sure what purpose is served by arresting him decades after the fact. I don't want a rapist to get away with it, but really, he already has gotten away with it, and it doesn't really seem like anything that anyone does now will change that.
I've seen about 30 different people walking around the neighborhood with invisible dogs. I guess it's an Improv Anywhere thing.
We were talking about the Polanski thing this morning. The victim has settled with him and publicly forgiven him. It doesn't appear as though she's interested in participating in any sort of trial at all.
I would think they would want to pursue charges of fleeing from the law but I don't know what the legalities entail. I think he's a rapist and should still face charges in court but I don't know if they'll be able to pursue rape charges without the cooperation of the victim.
He made the justice system look ridiculous by flying off and living his life all this time without suffering any punishment. From what I read, though, he was getting ready to go in and face the music until he heard that the judge (or possibly the prosecutor) was going to go all out and try to make an example of him in spite of a plea deal. Then he got spooked and ran after he had plead guilty.
Mistakes were made all around--starting with the asshole that drugged a 13 year old and raped her.
So technically there's already been a trial (plea bargain, but same thing, right?), there's just been no sentencing. He's been running from the punishment, not the charge, so it's between him and the court, not him and the victim.

I think so.
Accordign to Wikipedia, his lawyer filed papers alleging prosecutorial misconduct in 2008.
I think he should have just came back at that point to deal with the law. If he has a case, it needs to be heard.
Is there a particular word for the thin skin on top of the finger between the cuticle and the first joint?
I've been getting some peeling there for no good reason, and it stings annoyingly. So far I've just been trimming the tags, but if it keeps up I think I'll try some liquid bandage.
