I hung a u-ey today. Although I've never before thought about the spelling of it. I'd have spelt it uie, probably.
I hung it on the way to the salon. Today was our 16th anniversary! So I had a very good coffee, got my hair cut, we went to the matinee of Fame, bought birdseed, and had an excellent steak dinner.
Fame was fun, particularly as an arts teacher, but I thought
it got bogged down some and maybe had too big a cast. They tried to do too much within too short a time, I think. It would have worked great as a teevee show season.
However, and this is not a spoiler I don't think, the actual performances were great. Which is mostly what I went for, anyway.
Although I'm sure to kat perez's dismay there was definitely a goodish amount of
Kherington hair-flinging.
Hee.
The rest of the weekend will be pretty anticlimactic. We're playing on Saturday, of course, but it's with an entirely different line-up as half the band is in Phoenix. And they're doing a craft fair in the building until four. We start rehearsal at five thirty with a completely rearranged room. Furthermore, there is a car show about a mile away. I predict mass chaos.
However, the cars are awesome. Gave me a crick in my neck, though; there are some cars I can't help looking at while they go by. I'm like a guy walking into a pole watching a hot girl. Some of them are just so cool to look at.
Happy anniversary, Liese!
I am not sure that Matilda is allowed to turn three
Actual conversation tonight...
Me: "Matilda! Tomorrow is your birthday! You're going to be three!
Matilda: "How shocking!"
I'm a little surprised to learn that sarameg has had more than one experience with projectile vomit.

Dude, I was a nanny! And aunt. My first nephew spewed all over my neck. Plus the fish in Cesky Krumlov. But that was personal. And maybe too much rum. But most likely bad fish, given everyones' reaction. For the record, toilets are better for projectile than urinals. And barfing out the window in CZR is a no go.
(and babysat since I was 12.)
My reaction is the same as Matilda's. Three!
Timelies all!
Wow, Matilda's 3? Time flies...
Holy shit, you guys, what if you could get your news ON THE COMPUTER???
Sigh. A letter to the Ethicist column in the NY Times today. [link]
My daughter attended a small liberal-arts college in the U.S. that spends 25 percent of tuition funds on grants, scholarships, etc., none of which she received, although some were available to her. My wife and I strongly believe that this is forced charity, a redistribution of funds and hence unethical. We give to charity and support our alma maters, but that is voluntary. Shouldn’t the school simply cut its tuition by 25 percent?
What is wrong with people lately?
