'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I've been reading through the Slacktivist's deconstruction of the Left Behind book for the past week (it's very long, he's been writing weekly on it for the past 4 years) so it's enlightened me a lot about the wrong-headed theology/mindset that goes into people like Dobson and LaHaye.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

That little bat is adorable.

I have 15 minutes where Noah is entertaining himself. Instead of cleaning, as I desperately need to do, I'm just sitting on the couch.

I have never been so tired.

Me too! I just finished reading all his Left Behind posts yesterday. It's an absolutely brilliant, spot-on deconstruction of the theology/soteriology, as well as lambasting the execrable writing.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Dobson and his ilk make me want to puke all over their shoes.

That would be a waste of vomit.

ION - Finger bat!!! Adorable.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

soteriology

Ooh. New word! (for me)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I guess it's not the study of Soterios Johnson, huh?

Always Anti-fascist!

And what about straight men and parental contention?(not that I'm expecting to find logic in this bullshit) but it seems to me that a lot of young guys get competitive with their fathers...

He lobbied to have the definition changed to that ("The study of *me*! Sweet!"), but the OED laughed at him.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

I'm also amazed at how completely gay women are being ignored in this debate.

But then Queen Victoria set that precedent, I suppose.

Also, the Bible mentions male homosexuality five times, but doesn't mention lesbianism at all.
