Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

NICE.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I thought so. Why is it that governmental offices think that cute wording equals happier constituents?

In fairness though, it is a specifically Louisiana thing-like Dana says, usually with the LSU tigers, but I've seen other signage back home use it. It's more cajunified than Frenchified. (Also, high five Dana! Where has Drew been all my life? He has been on fire!)

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

At Teppy's suggestion, I'm sharing Emmett's school essay on Matilda.

Really lovely!

I find it hilarious (and telling) one of my neighbors is chiding me for not soliciting help with the heavy lifting. Oh, you don't know me well enough yet. I'm completely stupid-independent.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Thanks guys. I'm waiting with baited breath for the next news. This is one of the cousins I grew up with, even though she's a bit older than me, so it hits home hard. Her mother is my mother's closest sibling in terms of intimacy.

Hec, that's a very sweet essay. It's lovely to see his turnaround of attitude in his own words.
