Joss is going to make a Batgirl movie: [link]

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I don't feel great about that.

Original BatGirl got into the game because she wanted to emulate BatMan and Robin, she wasn't trying to avenge a tragedy in her life. I want a girl with, as Christopher Fry put it, "An endearing disposition to be a hero," not someone bogged down with pain and suffering. Of course, pain and suffering are endemic to life, but someone who chooses to be a hero rather than forced into it by fate (Buffy, Spider-Man, et al, et al, et al) would be a nice change.

"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

I sense a great disturbance....as if millions of voices suddenly cried out WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIFS in unison and then were suddenly punched in the mouth.

It could even be made tragic, Barbara is gung-ho but unprepared and bad things happen, but then she womans-up and saves the day. That's what Homecoming looks to be doing, if it's good enough for Spider-Man, it's good enough for BatGirl. (I'd love seeing the Bat Woman story brought back.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm with Steph. I wouldn't have thought Natasha Romanoff was bogged down with pain and suffering until Joss got his hands on her.

Natasha has a tragic back story in re: the things she's been made to do, and it didn't need to be more personal.

edit: Plus he wanted to fridge Clint's family in Ultron, which is lazy storytelling, so heaven knows what he'll do with the Batverse. If he's mulling over The Killing Joke, I'll be annoyed.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Ugh. For starters, Clint's family should be his brother and Pizza Dog.

I'm pretty sure that Joss is incapable of writing someone who has a great relationship with their father. I'm already cringing thinking about what the Jim Gordon scenes will be like.

I have no opinion on any members of the Bat universe, but I was hoping that Joss' next project would be back on TV.
