Great finale! The flashbacks make me feel a lot better about this "real S.H.I.E.L.D." business, now that I understand how it arose (and how they got that fucking ship and all their toys). Also, Bobbi Morse is amazing. Also, I hope that Indian woman agent made it out alive.
Loved the May/Morse fight, of course; as always this show does great woman-on-woman brutal fight scenes. Also loved Simmons taking down Bobbi.
Skye has fun powers!
Coulson is now going EVEN MORE ROGUE for fuck's sake.
Dug the finale, excited for next season and the possible directions they're going.
I wonder if Bobbi will notice that Nasty Guy was not using an icer.
I am pretty sure she noticed, hence the scream. No reason to be that afraid for Skye if he was just icing her.
ETA: WAIT A SECOND THAT WASN'T THE FINALE?? It felt like a finale. Oh man. Next week is going to be bonkers then.
I knew we needed some kind of flashbacks, but I felt they went on too long; rather than fast forward through Skye, I was tempted to fast forward through them--except I don't have a DVR and had to suffer through them. It was ice to see Lucy Lawless and her knife.
I'm very intrigued in what Skye is going to think about where she ends up. I don't blame her for asking Gordon to take her away. Between the way the "real" SHIELD tried to take her down and not knowing how her powers work, she had to be pretty desperate. I don't feel isolating her was the way to go, not without someone to help her work on them rather than contain them.
eta: I'm going to leave my typo, Lucy Lawless is so cool, she's ice.
May told her to bring down the grid and she runs out into the dark. Ugh.
I thought that Real!SHIELD cut off the power before Skye had a chance to. May had told her to turn off the grid and run. Since the grid was already down, she ran.
I am looking forward to Company Man Phil going rogue and ruthless. Hunter’s napkin contract made me happy.
I hope he calls on Hill, it’s about time he contacts Avenger-type people for backup. Darn those higher plot necessities.
If Fury really is the Ultimate Paranoid Trickster, the toolbox should be booby trapped. A hologram should pop up saying “If this is Phil Coulson, put your finger on the usual spot for confirmation. If this is not Phil Coulson, you have 20 seconds to find him and convince him to put his finger on the usual spot. If you don’t have a cooperative Phil Coulson, you better duck.”
Cue exterior shot of building collapsing.
I wonder what's in that ships hold that's so all-fired important.
I love the way they drop Avengers tidbits: "Rogers stayed here for a few weeks" and the giant fist in the plating and "the cabin Banner built." Which is part of the buildup to Ultron, of course.
Well, nuclear reactors for one. Plus we've seen that SHIELD has stealth technology and highly advanced artillery.
I mean, in the real world if a terrorist group seized control of a garden variety US Navy carrier, everyone outside of Central Asia ought to start crapping their pants at the threat it would pose.
the giant fist in the plating and "the cabin Banner built."
I got the Banner reference, but I didn't notice the fist bump. D'oh!
Oh, geeze, yeah. I didn't even realize that was the impression of a fist. Good one.
