I will give this show until ep 6. I might be in for the whole season however many eps that is.
I figure if I hung on to "Fringe" until the show started getting good (and it really did and I had no pre-warning it would) then I can show the same patience to "Dollhouse." The only thing it conflicts with is "Flashpoint" and I can watch that on the 'net over the weekend.
I may skip eps 4-5 and wait until 6 or 7 to watch again. 1-3 weren't exactly must-see watching.
Yeah, I will give the show a last chance by tuning in episode 6, since that is when it is supposed to get good. What I get for not paying closer attention to the interviews. If I'd know I'd have just read TWOP for the first five, and tuned in for the first time on six.
Tangentially, when people say "Leverage is an inferior Hustle" I think "Didn't you watch Mission: Impossible???" and remember that one of the creators hasn't even seen any Hustle. I think it's such an easy comparison, and not necessarily the right one.
Why does that come to mind? Because I wonder how someone creates a vampire PI in LA driving a convertible and pining over a small blonde story and doesn't think "Maybe we should make him a redhead or something, so it's not
totally
Angel." I've watched Moonlight, or more appropriately, skimmed Moonlight for the Dohring bits, and I do wonder how it got as far as it did. The lead is pleasant to look at, but he isn't magic.
I remember back 10 years ago, somebody accused Tim of copying Angel from Forever Knight on a forum. Tim posted something along the lines of 'What's Forever Knight?'
I keep forgetting to answer the question of "Why do I/others feel Joss has a crush/is enamoured of Eliza" and I firmly want to state that it has nothing to do with those rumours that I'd never heard of until now.
For me it's merely the vibe I get off of the culmination of various interviews. There's none of the usual (in my experience) "That Nathan's not funny at all/Morena's so homely". It's just full-throttle, untempered adoration. For me there's also the "Why the hell her? Of all the actresses he's worked with, why does he want to work solely with Eliza freaking Dushku?!"
So when *I* say (however I actually phrased it) that Joss has a crush on ED, it's because I can't come up with a better explanation. I've read the other rationale's more recently about ED having the development deal and Joss wanting to work with her so hopping on board that deal rather than wait ten years, and I still don't get it.
So it must be the blind stupidity that comes with crushing.
I can't speak for others reasons for their perceptions, but that's my overdue explanation.
I think we're about to enter the past
Meaning....what, specifically?
(1) Nothing other than the first 13 get made, but all 13 get aired?
(2) Nothing other than the first 13 get made, and no more episodes air?
(3) Nothing other than the first 13 get made, but an indeterminate number of the remaining 9 get aired?
(4) Nothing other than the first 13 get made, and FOX brainwipes everyone who saw the first 3 so that no one remembers it existed?
