I want to know how Ghost Guy thought crashing a plane that his crush object was traveling on would protect her.
Did you see a lot of intense clear thinking going on with him?
Dude was on the ball enough to identify and attack all the people on the plane and figure out how to disable it, so I'd expect "send the person I want to protect to her death in a fiery crash" might not be the option he'd go for. If he'd been trying to get her into the same "hell" as he was occupying so he could hug her and squeeze her and call her George, it would have made a lot more sense.
Kill the power, get into the cage, grab the girl, slip into the other dimension with her, kill the rest. As whacked out plans go, I've seen worse.
