One thing I liked about this episode is that Simmons was allowed to be wrong about how long the artifact was in the tree. She speculated millenia (unlikely as those weren't bristlecone pines in that forest), and Dragonslayer established it was no more than 472 years.

What makes Clark Gregg and Agent Coulson so appealing?
TANCHAROEN: Clark Gregg is so cool. He’s a pretty cool cat. People are drawn to him. He’s got a sexy everyman thing.
It better not take two years to determine if Coulson is live or Memorex.
Yeah, that better be in this season's finale. Or at the very least a big piece should be revealed.
A finale reveal would be great, then the 2nd year can be the team dealing with fallout/ramifications/betrayal etc.
Dragonslayer
I kept expecting him to be Larry. But he persisted in being this Asgardian person.
It kinda made me realize how much I've missed the Epps ladies and their coworkers and friends.

Sigh. Me too.
Aw, I was all cranky from my plumbing problems (see Bitches) and I come over here and y'all distract me with the pretty for miles.
*sniff* You guys are awesome.
The Dollhouse shout-out was incredibly well-played, IMO, because it ratcheted up the creepy substantially for those who got it.
That was great. And the Portland mention too. Not things that detract from people who aren't watching the same way but totally pointed for those who are.
I really enjoyed that episode. That's the SHIELD show characterizations I have been hoping for all season.
And the Portland mention too.
What's in Portland?
