Well, he did go from the outcasts and geeks being the heroes of his story to them being the antagonists of the story that his heroes looked down on and mocked as his own coolness factor rocketed. The Nerd Trio did not sit well with me on a metaphorical level.

TV, movies, web media--this thread is the home for any Joss projects that don't already have their own threads, such as Dr. Horrible.
I quite liked that episode. Coulson worried about himself being different--and me wondering if the medicos gave him faked info. The team having interactions with each other, Ward with a sense of humor. Genuinely moving bits with that fireman.
What's-his-face-Fury-standin touched Lola!
Coulson putting Simmons under quartantine and Fitz talking about being at her side made me sniffly.
So I know I shouldn't be critiquing the science in a Marvel show, let alone a Joss show, but: they can get antigens/antibodies and vaccine/antiserum right, but they show red blood cells instead of nerve cells? Oy.
I do adore Fitz-Simmons, though.
I still think there's more to Coulson's return than just "You died. That means you ARE different." I'm still leaning toward Came Back Wrong.
Clark Gregg is so damn good at conveying so much through the tiniest of facial expressions.
When Melinda May kicked in the door of the barn, I turned to Tim and said, "I would leave you for her." He said, "I would follow you TO her." BADASS. The cookie interrogation made me laugh and laugh.
I'm still not a huge Skye fan, but I liked when she ran up and hugged Simmons.
Seriously, as if SHIELD wouldn't just falsify the blood test results.

I KNOW.

She didn't say they were nerve cells, did she? The virus was electrostatic, but because it was ~*alien*~ I figured it traveled all through the bloodstream or whatever. Now that you mention it, however, hopping nerve cells does make more sense.

At this point they have to be fucking with us re: ROBOT because they know LMD is the prevailing theory.
Good episode. I really thought they may off Simmons, but I didn't want them to, and the last half with Fitz/Simmons was really good.
I really thought they may off Simmons,
It was kind of cool, thinking "I don't know if they'll go there or not."
It was funny that Simmons didn't know the protocol for the end of a Coulson Scolding. "Oh, does that mean we leave now?"
It was kind of cool, thinking "I don't know if they'll go there or not."
Adding to that thought was a Tweet from Elizabeth Henstridge where she said that it was a "crap episode."
She did say they were nerve cells, which is why I noticed. (I told the TV out loud, "those are RBCs!" followed immediately by telling myself to let it go.)
I was totally convinced that they were offing Simmons. Joss has me well-trained. So, I was pleasantly surprised to see her still around. Nice to get a little back story on those two.
I'm also still on the "Coulson came back wrong" train.
Ward and Skye bugged infinitely less than normal. It's great when they are not the heart of the story.
All in all, I enjoyed it and was glad it was back after it's micro-hiatus.
